A total of 51 warships and 28 fighter aircraft involving 5,500 troops from 36 countries are planned to take part in the third event of "Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo" (MNEK) held 4-9 May 2018 in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara Province.


This warship arrived in Lombok on 3-4 May 2018, the opening ceremony of MNEK itself was held on May 5th at Lembar Port, West Lombok regency. This activity will be opened and attended by TNI and Kasal Commander.

A joint exercise involving many countries, one of its aims to cooperate in dealing with natural disasters and assisting humanitarian problems.

Sebanyak 51 kapal perang dan 28 pesawat tempur dengan melibatkan 5.500 prajurit dari 36 negara direncanakan ambil bagian dalam kegiatan “Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo” (MNEK) yang ke tiga dilaksanakan 4-9 Mei 2018 di Lombok, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Barat.


Kapal perang ini tiba di Lombok pada 3-4 Mei 2018, upacara pembukaan MNEK sendiri dilaksanakan pada 5 Mei di Pelabuhan Lembar, Kabupaten Lombok Barat. Kegiatan ini nanti dibuka dan dihadiri Panglima TNI dan Kasal.

Latihan bersama yang melibatkan banyak negara, salah satu tujuannya untuk bekerja sama dalam menangani bencana alam dan membantu masalah-masalah kemanusiaan.

Sejumlah rangkaian kegiatan yang akan memeriahkan MNEK 2018 di Lombok ini, antara lain “city tour” yang di ikuti para personel masing-masing negara, ada kegiatan hiburan melalui musik dan budaya, “fun bike” dan “fun run”, bhakti sosial, pelayaran nusantara yang diikuti 400 pelajar di Lombok.


Selain itu, dilaksanakan penenggelaman sebuah prasasti yang juga nantinya berfungsi sebagai terumbu karang di Gili Trawangan, Lombok Utara. Kegiatan olahraga antarpeserta seperti lomba balap karung, panjat pinang, voli pantai dan lomba memasak kuliner memasak ayam Taliwang yang diikuti juru masak kapal perang peserta MNEK.


Sementara, untuk negara-negara peserta MNEK 2018, di antaranya Brunei Darusalam, Uni Emirat Arab, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Filipina, Singapura, China, Polandia, Brazil, Meksiko, Rusia, Australia, Arab Saudi, Amerika Serikat, Peru, Malaysia, Jepang, Korea Selatan, Prancis, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Swedia, Pakistan, Turki, Inggris, Spanyol, India, Swedia, Belgia, Belanda. Masing-masing negara ada yang mengirim dua sampai tiga kapal atau lebih.
