Kunjungan wisata di Lombok Utara sedang High Season. Wisatawan mancanegara (wisman) semakin membanjiri tempat-tempat wisata, salah satunya di Gili Trawangan. Hal ini mendapat atensi pihak kepolisian. Terutama menyangkut keamanan para pelancong yang menikmati panorama Gili Trawangan. 

 Dalam sepekan ini sudah ada dua kali pencurian barang milik wisman terjadi, untungnya pelaku bisa diamankan pihak kepolisian. Untuk itu polisi meningkatkan keamanan, dengan cara menambah personil. Penambahan jumlah personil yang diterjunkan dari Polres Lombok Utara yaitu sebanyak 25 anggota. 

Personil ini ditempatkan di tiga gili, difokuskan di Gili Trawangan. Sebab pengunjung di Gili Trawangan lebih banyak. Patroli dan penempatan personil sendiri digiatkan pada titik-titik keramaian, untuk Gili Trawangan ada lima titik yang difokuskan. Langkah preventif pun, tiap hari dilakukan. Polisi  pun mengimbau kepada pihak hotel dan restaurant agar memasang CCTV guna memantau keadaan sekitar. 

Ada beberapa sudah dipasang CCTV-nya, tapi ada juga yang belum dipasang. Sementara itu, Kades Gili Indah, H Taufik meminta pemda dan kepolisian untuk memperhatikan keamanan di Gili Trawangan. Hal itu demi kenyamanan dan keamanan para wisatawan, baik yang mancanegara dan nusantara.
