      Gili Trawangan is known as a pollution-free island, this is because there is no motor vehicle there. Vehicles passing by there are only motorcycles and delmans. The state of the island like this must be very rare to find. But starting today Gili Trawangan has ended as a pollution-free island due to the arrival of several units of vehicles derived by the North Lombok regency. The vehicle is used for waste handling in Gili Trawangan.

                                     

      However, given the unclear regulations and the unofficial management, increasing the complexity of waste problems in Gili Trawangan. This is one of thousands of solutions to overcome the trash problem on the island. There are two types of L300 cars and two wheeled trucks of three units that are sent in Gili Trawangan.

     These vehicles are on Gili Trawangan and are fully under local government control. Parties who will operate the vehicle, local government has sent 30 janitors for a while. In the future there are 10 permanent people who are tasked to transport trash in Gili Trawamgan.

      Gili Trawangan dikenal dengan pulau yang bebas polusi, hal ini disebabkan karena tidak ada satu kendaraan bermotor di sana. Kendaraan yang berlalu lalang hanya ada sepeda motor dan  delman. Keadaan pulau seperti ini pasti sangat langka untuk ditemui. Tetapi mulai hari ini Gili Trawangan sudah berakhir dengan sebutan pulau bebas polusi karena kedatangan beberapa unit kendaraan yang diturunkan oleh Pemkab Lombok Utara. Kendaraan itu digunakan untuk penanganan sampah di Gili Trawangan.


      Namun mengingat peraturan yang belum jelas serta pengelolaan yang belum resmi, semakin menambah kerumitan persoalan sampah di Gili Trawangan. Hal ini merupakan salah satu dari ribuan jalan keluar untuk mengatasi masalah sampah di pulau ini. Terdapat mobil jenis L300 sebanyak dua unit dan gerobak sampah roda dua sebanyak tiga unit yang dikirim di Gili Trawangan.

       Kendaraan ini seterusnya berada di Gili Trawangan dan sepenuhnya berada dalam pengawasan pemda. Pihak yang akan mengoperasikan kendaraan itu, pemda sudah mengirimkan sebanyak 30 petugas kebersihan untuk sementara waktu. Kedepannya ada 10 orang tetap yang bertugas untuk menggangkut sampah di Gili Trawamgan.


   Sebelumnya untuk membawa kendaraan ke Gili Trawangan didukung oleh sejumlah pengusaha, salah satunya Ketua Asosiasi Pengusaha Gili Trawangan (APGT). Ketua APGT sangat mendukung untuk penanganan sampah di pulau ini, beliau juga membandingkan dengan pulau-pulau yang terkenal di dunia miasalnya apalagi di Pulau Thailand kendaraan yang boleh masuk hanya truck sampah dan damkar.
