Gili Trawangan, pulau kecil yang banyak dikunjungi wisatawan lokal maupun wisatawan mancanegara, setiap harinya tidak pernah ada kata sepi pengunjung. Namun selama bulan Ramadhan, ada beberapa aturan yang harus ditaati wisatawan, pengusaha, maupun masyarakat di Gili Trawangan. Di antaranya tidak membunyikan petasan dan kembang api pada malam maupun siang hari.
 Aturan juga melarang siapa pun makan dan minum di ruang publik pada siang hari, tapi jika makan di dalam restoran masih diperbolehkan.

Menurut Kepala Desa Gili Indah aturan itu sudah disepakati para pengusaha maupun masyarakat setempat. hal ini juga sudah disosialisasikan dan disampaikan kepada seluruh pihak. Selanjutnya, tidak ada party yang diselenggarakan kafe-kafe yang ada seperti hari biasanya, untuk pertunjukan live music juga diberikan jadwal tetap hingga pukul 00.00 Wita agar tidak mengganggu ibadah malam hari. Wisatawan juga tidak diperkenankan mengenakan bikini di areal permukiman masyarakat.


Menurut Kepala Desa, aturan-aturan ini sudah diterapkan selama bulan puasa sejak bertahun-tahun yang lalu. Hal ini dilakukan agar masyarakat yang menjalankan ibadah puasa bisa nyaman dalam beribadah. Kepada pengusaha-pengusaha juga sudah disampaikan dan ditempel imbauan tersebut di beberapa titik agar wisatawan paham.

Sementara itu, Ketua Asosiasi Pengusaha Gili Trawangan (APGT) Acok Zani Bassok mengatakan, seluruh pengusaha mendukung aturan yang dikeluarkan pemerintah desa selama bulan puasa tersebut.
Menurut pemilik Sama-Sama Bar ini, aturan selama puasa ini selalu dijalankan setiap tahunnya oleh seluruh pengusaha yang ada di Gili Trawangan tanpa terkecuali. Untuk keamanan di Gili Trawangan  Kepala Pos Polisi Subsektor bersama pemuda dan karang taruna bekerja sama menggalakkan siskamling maupun patroli. Jadi jangan heran jika di Gili Trawangan suasanya tidak seperti biasanya.
