       After the occurrence of OTT (Operation Capture Hand) in Gili Trawangan on Thursday, February 02, garbage in Gili Trawangan threatened unhandled. Village officials in Gili Trawangan are hands-off for the waste problem. This happens because village and hamlet officials are not able to solve the problem of waste, because there is no longer the source of funds. Allegedly the cessation of payment of cleaning and security services, village officials intend all the handling of waste handed over to the local government.

                                     
      Although the Regent has sent officials to discuss with the village and business, but the meeting did not find the bright point. In the meeting it was agreed that if the village would still handle the waste problem with the financing borne by the regional government. If for one month it can still be overcome the problem of waste that will be borne by the local government, but for the next months village officials can not afford to finance because the local government is still trying to source the funds from where.

 Not only that for the security will soon be dismissed. According to the head of Gili Trawangan village, the issue of cleanliness and security if not resolved soon is feared to affect tourism and tourists in Gili Trawangan. Because all this time cleanliness and security is the spearhead to attract tourists, garbage in Gili Trawangan must be like garbage in Gili Air that accumulate in the port.

       Setelah terjadinya OTT (Operasi Tangkap Tangan) di Gili Trawangan pada hari Kamis tanggal 02 Februari, sampah di Gili Trawangan terancam tidak tertangani. Aparat desa di Gili Trawangan lepas tangan untuk masalah sampah tersebut. Hal ini terjadi karena aparat desa maupun dusun  tidak mampu mengatasi masalah sampah, sebab tidak ada lagi sumber dananya. Diduga berhentinya pembayaran jasa kebersihan dan keamanan, aparat desa berniat segala proses penanganan sampah diserahkan kepada Pemda. 


      Meskipun Bupati sudah mengirim pejabat untuk berdiskusi dengan pihak desa maupun kalangan usaha, namun pertemuan tersebut tidak menemukan titik terangnya. Dalam rapat tersebut disepakati bahwa jika desa masih akan menangani masalah sampah dengan pembiayaan yang ditanggung Pemda. Jika untuk satu bulan ini masih bisa ditanggulangi masalah sampahnya yang akan ditanggung Pemda, namun untuk bulan-bulan selanjutnya aparat desa tidak mampu untuk membiayai karena Pemda masih mengupayakan sumber dananya dari mana. 

      Tak hanya itu untuk keamanannya pun akan segera diberhentikan. Menurut kepala desa Gili Trawangan masalah kebersihan dan keamanan ini jika tidak segera teratasi dikhawatirkan berimbas pada pariwisata dan wisatawan di Gili Trawangan. Sebab selama ini kebersihan dan keamanan ini merupakan ujung tombak untuk memikat wisatawan, sampah di Gili Trawangan pasti seperti sampah di Gili Air yang menumpuk di pelabuhan.
